Hello, Lovelies and Happy Earth Day to all of you!
I wanted to share this post with you all especially today because it is Earth Day. I wanted to talk about these wonderful vegan leather boots I received as a gift from a very lovely brand called, Tastemaker.
If you haven't heard of them before that's alright I'm happy to tell ya all about them! They are an exceptional high-end eco-fashion brand that I'm so so happy to talk about with you today. The company uses 100% vegan raw materials to make their shoes. They set the standard demonstrating that well-made fashion doesn't need to involve the sacrifice of animals & the environment. Besides using the highest quality of ingredients to make their shoes they have established relationships with master artisans for over 5o years of shoemaking expertise under their belts. The shoes are made to last made from a microfiber coated with PU (polyurethane) to create an already durable leather alternative water and scratch resistant (which I love for Portland since it rains all the time). Their products are also Peta approved and quite adorable.
I choose these simple black zip-up booties since I thought they'd be great for running around the city. I wore these for this blogger meetup with Mariah from @xodearjune last Friday and we sipped our drinks as the sunset over Forrest Park and peek golden hour made the city behind us simply glow as you can see from the photos above.
As for the rest of my outfit, it's all vintage except my black tights which I believe are from American Apparel. I love wearing things that make me feel good in and standing up for an economy that's anti-fast fashion and pro slow fashion lifestyle. I'm all about it. I made a vow to myself this year that I would not buy anything new but to buy from vintage shops, sustainable brands like Tastemaker and support my local boutiques in my own neighborhood. How do you guys shop? Do you have specific guidelines and parameters you shop within like me??? I'd love to know.

Also, feel free to follow my new blogger gal pal Mariah and check out her blog as well. Lately, I've been meeting a lot of other local Portland Influencers which has been such a joy. One thing I've learned this year is to be supportive and to support your community.
I hope the week is off to a great start for you!!!
XOXO
