Hello hello my friends!
We are BACK with a new blog post featuring a wonderful romantic weekend getaway in a Treehouse, how cool is that?
Now you may remember a while back when I shared about my
So I'm happy to share with you another unique spot up in Washington in the Hood River area which is about an 1 and a 1/2 hours away from Portland Oregon in a small town called Bingen. When the opportunity arose to stay in a cabin treehouse on the site from Hipcamp I jumped at the chance to stay here. As you can probably see from the photos I took above it was a chilly spring stay with a sprinkling on snow (since we were so high up in elevation) and I was totally okay with that. That first morning I woke up pretty early since there was no internet, no cable and no TV whatsoever I went to bed early and woke up at dawn. I had a great deep nights sleep in the forrest where everything was so quiet and still. I LOVED IT, theres nothing better than getting away to a place and having that feeling, it's simply magical. During our stay, (our meaning my dog Kiko, husband Grant and myself ) we got a fire going, listened to music and took a dip in the hot tub while we sipped on red wine and listened to the frogs and humming of the crickets all around us into the evening. This truly was a romanic getaway experience, I brought tea light candles and enjoyed lighting them in the evening to set the mood and cracked open a book and just relaxed or at least Grant and Kiko did as you can see from the images above. When it came to cooking we ate oatmeal with fresh berries and drank cold brew for breakfast, explored out in the area for lunch along the Columbia River Gorge and I made pizza and salad for dinner and pasta with garlic bread the second night, it was delicious. Its strange to say this but I think the food even tasted better because we made our meals ourselves and actually sat down together and enjoyed our meals without distractions and city noise around us.
